Athletics and soft tissue treatment
Keeping your body performing at it’s best is the core of providing our athletes with continued Chiropractic care. Not only will having your body properly aligned ensure that you are at peak performance, but athletes see a major impact in their overall health. For many athletes the fear of injury increases as time goes on. With Nevada Spine and Disc as your Chiropractic team you will know that you can recover faster and workout harder.
Maintenance & Recovery
Top athletes have one thing in common, they strive to perform better tomorrow than they did today. In order to achieve this goal they frequently push their body to the limit in the name of strengthening muscles and increasing endurance. This strain and continued pressure frequently cause injury for our professional athlete patients. Whether it’s your livelihood or your passion to go hard, have the Chiropractic team at Nevada Spine and Disc perform your routine maintenance and help you recover faster.
Soft tissue treatments
Athletes are likely to suffer injuries from time to time. Between torn muscles and ligaments to sprains, strains, and pulls, there is seemingly no end to the possible injuries athletes endure and push through every day. Through the use of Chiropractics and the advanced medical services offered at Nevada Spine and Disc, our athletic patients see injuries less often and reinjury far less often than their competitors.
In our office we utilize multiple treatments to help recover from those injuries and get you back on the field, court or where ever you need to be. Those treatments include:
- Graston – We like to call it a muscle comb. It’s pictured above and is used to break up scar tissue and inflammation in the layers of muscle and fascia below the skin.
- Shock wave – Strong impulse acoustic waves that carry high energy to muscles, tendons and ligaments and fascia. Which can loosen adhesions in those tissues, reduce inflammation and promote healing.
- Cupping – Cupping is primarily used for three reasons. 1) decrease inflammation. 2) Increase circulation. 3) Break up adhesions in the soft tissues.
- Kinesio taping – We use rock tape in our office to help reduce pain, reduce inflammation and bruising. It is also used to provide functional support to injured muscles during normal ranges of motion.
How Often Should I See a Chiropractor?
You train your body almost every day. For full time, professional athletes, we generally recommend at least twice a week adjustments and advanced medical treatments we perform here in our Las Vegas office. Prior to competitive events we always recommend getting an adjustment, to ensure you perform at your maximum capacity.
